About the Project

This is my final project for Intro to Tibet Civilization class (Fall 2019) at Columbia University.

Although the class focused more on the history of Tibet up until the modern times, I wanted to focus more on what we didn’t learn in class and what can be done now to learn more about the Tibetan culture. This is how I came about this idea of making a guide for navigating Tibetan culture in New York City, where my school is located at. I personally think that food, art, and other forms of immersive experience really helps someone get a good grasp of one’s culture, so I focused the guides on those three main points. Since this website is a general guide to exploring different places within the city, I pulled a lot of information from external sources and tried to add external links as much as possible so that the user can access more information if they need.
